Identify What To Do

Time is your friend

Trade low impact activities for high impact activities. Trade “putting out fires” with long-term betterment.

Time is the only non-renewable resource.

Find your serenity

  • Make better decisions
  • Calmer
  • Nicer
  • Easier to get along with

The purpose of life is to experience your life.

What will you do with your extra hour?

How would you spend that hour?

  • Be intentional.
  • Create a better future.

Deciding what to do

  • Trouble deciding what to do
  • Overcoming perfectionism

Start experimenting. Focus the mind.

Make Changes

Start with 15 minutes

You can change your life in 15 minutes. Spend time on the things that matter to you. It’s not hard to find 15 minutes.

The cumulative effect of spending 15 minutes every day on something is incalculable.

Five-minute transitions

Five Meeting Breaks

  • Between meetings
  • Between big tasks
  • In transit

Five minutes being yourself with yourself. Think about things you want to do. Think about others.

Erase a calendar commitment, permanently

Life is about balance. Permanently erase something from your calendar.

Is there a more effective way for you to contribute? Make sure everything on your calendar gives you something back. Remove yourself from obligations that bring you little or no benefit.

Do you need to attend the meeting?

  • Shorter
  • Better
  • Fewer
  • None

Ask the person scheduling the meeting

  • What is the point of this meeting?
  • What are we trying to accomplish?
  • What result do we want?
  • What am I here? (why is my attendance important)
A Few Ideas

Invest in the time savers

Invest in things that save you time.

Time Savers

  • Automated deliveries
  • Email templates
  • Training videos
  • Automated banking
  • Outsource routine tasks
  • Hire household help

Put your phone down

You must be in charge of your phone. Keep your phone out of the bedroom. Give yourself some time before you allow the outside world in.

Give your time to:

  • people
  • relationships
  • projects

Create barriers between you and your phone

  • Remove some apps
  • Keep it out of sight
  • Commit to using it less

Be intentional about who you are and how you want to show up in the world.

Get outside

Do things outdoors with friends and family. Time outdoors can lead to good discussions.
